03 · Methodology

How we picked the 10.

Falcoscan tracks 6,481 approved AI tools across 29 categories. Each tool carries a growth signal (hot, rising, stable, or declining), an opportunity score (0-100), and a user rating (0-5). The Rising 10 filter is simple: tools tagged hot or rising with a non-null opportunity score.

Ranking is a weighted composite:
40% signal weight (hot → 100, rising → 70).
35% opportunity score (0-100, already normalized).
25% user rating, rescaled from 0-5 to 0-100.

The composite is deterministic — the same inputs always produce the same list — and the weights are declared in lib/articles/rising-10-schema.ts. If you disagree with the weighting, email us and we'll hear you out.
