The company launched its 'AI Materials Foundry' alongside its most recent round, a coalition of industrial and technology partners including NVIDIA, Samsung, Hyundai and Applied Materials. CuspAI was founded in Cambridge in 2024 by Chad Edwards and Professor Max Welling, with Geoffrey Hinton among its advisers. The round valued the company at $2.6bn, up from $520m nine months earlier.
