What Listenwise does
Listenwise is a subscription library of short podcast and video lessons that teach grade-level content and academic language together while building listening skills. It is aimed at teachers and students in grades 2 to 12, in both general education and English Language Development classrooms, with a strong focus on English learners. The site names standards-aligned podcast lessons across several subjects, built-in scaffolds for multilingual learners, auto-scored listening comprehension quizzes, interactive transcripts that let students read while they listen, teacher guides and a library of listening assessments. Listenwise is now part of the Lingolift platform, which adds lessons for newcomers with a translation toolbar and speech recognition. A free trial is offered, and administrators can request a quote.
