What Onix does
Onix is a consumer iOS app that gives users AI 'doppelgangers' of real health practitioners, spanning nutrition, functional medicine, cardiology, mental health, fitness and longevity. The company says conversations are encrypted and stored only on the user's device, running small language models locally rather than sending data to the cloud. Onix launched with a network of more than 20 named health experts and a 'Become an Expert' program for practitioners to create their own AI version. Co-founder Nicholas Nadeau has said the model avoids a data bottleneck because the experts themselves supply the underlying knowledge.
