What Plumerai does
Plumerai builds AI software for camera makers, combining small on-device 'Tiny AI' models with cloud-based vision-language models for features like face and stranger identification, people/vehicle/animal detection and AI video search. Partech's own announcement and multiple trade outlets report the company, co-founded in 2017 by Roeland Nusselder and Taras Iakymchuk and headquartered in London with an office in Amsterdam, raised $8.7m (£6.4m) in a Series A round led by Partech and OTB Ventures, announced September 16, 2025. Plumerai says its software already runs in more than 50 million homes through partners including Chamberlain Group (myQ, LiftMaster), Bosch and Signify/Hue. Its inference engine runs on Arm Cortex-M/A and RISC-V chips, from microcontrollers up to cloud infrastructure.
