What Remove BG Pro API does
Remove BG Pro API is the developer API from remove.bg for automatic background removal from JPG, PNG, and WebP images up to 22 MB. It is aimed at developers and teams who want to automate background removal in their apps or workflows. Requests can use an uploaded image or a URL, and results can be returned as images or JSON in PNG, JPG, WebP, or ZIP formats, with optional settings for shadows, background color, cropping, and foreground type. The page states that background removal moves to Leonardo.Ai, also part of Canva, starting December 1, 2026, when the standalone website is slated to stop.
