Do the acquired products still run?

Of the 10 AI companies bought outright, six still run under the buyer and for four no source has yet said. Confirmed still running: Augie, Brex, Pod, Semrush, Tonkean and Wiz.

Three products bought in an earlier year shut down so far in 2026: Continue (bought by Cursor), Ready Player Me (bought by Netflix) and Unscreen (bought by Canva in 2021). Those count as shut-downs, not as this year's acquisitions.

How does 2026 compare with earlier years?

The whole of 2025 saw 23, so 2026 is running behind it for now. The table runs back through every year with a dated record. A year is the year the deal closed; products whose deal date is not established are left out of it.

How does FalcoScan record an acquisition?

A product enters the AI Graveyard as acquired only when a published source says it was bought or merged. Every entry links to a published source. Catalog listings of the same product are merged into one record, so counts here are products, not listings. A product that was bought and later shut down is counted once, as a shut-down that keeps its buyer. Whether an acquired product still runs is recorded only when a source says so. The method is set out on the AI Graveyard page and in the methodology. This page is rebuilt from the latest refresh, and the date at the top is the date of the data it used.

Where can you dig into the deals?

Who buys AI startups lists every buyer in the graveyard with what it bought, and the 2026 page answers the year's questions in one place. For the buyers across every year, with every deal, read who is buying AI startups, and for the products that did not find a buyer, which AI products shut down in 2026. The frozen report what died and where it went keeps a reference reading, and the Pulse carries what moved this week.
