What does the data show?

  • AI tool directories mostly charge. 71 of the 127 list a product only for a fee, and 37 still offer a free listing. They are the biggest kind, so most of the work is choosing among them.
  • Communities and SaaS directories are the most open. 71% and 60% of them state a free listing.
  • API directories are the hardest to get into for free. 2 of 10 state a free listing.
  • For an MCP server, one listing feeds others. Glama and PulseMCP pick up servers from the Official MCP Registry, so list there first.

Which free directories should you start with?

These 25 are the free directories to do first. FalcoScan picks them by a fixed rule: a free listing stated on the directory's own site; a share of the 25 for each kind, in proportion to how many free directories it has; and within each kind the largest catalogs first, by the number of products each says it lists.

Where is FalcoScan itself listed?

We list FalcoScan the way this page recommends: free listings only. As of 12 October 2026, it is live on Product Hunt, G2, SaaSHub, Peerlist, F6S, Indie Hackers, Crunchbase, the Official MCP Registry, Smithery, Glama, Not Human Search and public-apis on GitHub, with more waiting on review. The registry was the most useful single step for FalcoScan's MCP server, because other MCP directories copy from it.

What do you need before you submit?

  1. A tagline under 60 characters that says what the product does and for whom.
  2. Three descriptions, of about 25, 60 and 160 words. FalcoScan keeps one at each length and pastes the one that fits each form.
  3. A square logo and three screenshots, plus a short demo video if you have one.
  4. Your pricing in one line and your category, worded the same everywhere.
  5. A sheet to track every submission: the date, the status and the listing link, so nothing is submitted twice and you can see which listings went live.

Should you pay for a directory listing?

Pay only when a directory shows it reaches buyers in your market. Ask for its monthly visitors and how many of them click through to listed products, and check that products like yours are listed and current. A paid spot on a directory nobody visits buys a link and little else. FalcoScan lists itself only where a free listing exists.

How does FalcoScan track directories?

Directories are a market in the FalcoScan catalog, like any AI market. Each one has a profile written from its own pages: what it lists, its kind, how many products it shows and whether a free listing exists. The directory's own words decide the free column; where its pages don't say, it counts as not stated. This page is rebuilt from the latest refresh, and the date at the top is the date of the data it used.

Where can you explore further?

Every directory FalcoScan tracks is in the directory list, with its totals by kind on the Tool Directories page. To list your own AI product on FalcoScan for free, submit it here; once it is live you can add a badge to your site and check how hard it is to copy.
